    You are invited to be part of a small group (up to 10 people) in a beautiful, healing space for the weekend.

     

    The daily rhythm and pace of the retreat are a big part of the medicine with morning silence, meditations and yoga practices. During the retreat, we align with the Ayurvedic principles of “dinacharya” (circadian and biorhythms). Dinacharya literally means, “to flow with the intelligence of the day”. Your meals are also designed to support your digestion. Each dish has been carefully selected in order to work with the Ayurvedic principles of digestive health (“agni”) which means we align meals and dishes with the time of day and season. 

     

    Evenings are for relaxing and developing a deeper connection to the joy within through the practice of kirtan (sound vibration practice, part of Bhakti Yoga) and releasing deep-seated tension through the practice of Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation/yogic sleep). You will definitely learn more about different types of yoga practice during the weekend.

     

    The aim of the retreat is to de-stress, create space for self-care & self-love and learn strategies to tackle burn-out, especially as we enter the Spring season. 

     

    It is a time to embrace nature & celebrate your life - enjoy the fresh air, rest, breathe, walk, dance, laugh and find stillness, joy & peace.

  • VENUE

     

    Located between the two jewels of the Black Mountains, The Llanthony Valley and Sugar Loaf Mountain, lies the Fforest Barn Retreat - a tasteful 17th-century double barn conversion, consisting of an oak-beamed, dry-stone Welsh barn and an ultra-modern Dutch barn. 

     

    This property offers total privacy and breathtaking views. It is the ideal place to rest, rejuvenate, explore, connect to nature and grow. With no light or noise pollution, no sign of roads or cars, a perfect view of the sunset across the valleys and mountains all around, the venue is a perfect setting for a weekend immersion into stillness and joy.

     

    The living space itself is ultra-luxurious and includes a hot tub that overlooks the mountains, roll top bath, steam shower, central open coned fire (Old barn), wood burning stove (Dutch barn), a beautiful yoga studio with underfloor heating and a state-of-the-art AV system, perfect for workshops, Osho Meditations, dance and kirtan sessions.

  • WELLBEING TREATMENTS

     

    The following therapies to help you de-stress and assist in recovery from burn-out will be offered at a substantial discount as part of the retreat:

     

    NEPIP REFLEXOLOGY - A bespoke reflexology treatment for stress reduction. It is targeted
    to treat the specific systems and glands involved in the stress response. NEPIP helps to bring the body back to its
    parasympathetic activity - a state of relaxation & repair. The vagus nerve, gut-brain axis & limbic
    system are also given attention to balance emotions. If you wish, you will be guided to set
    intentions, and use positive affirmations or alternatively, you can just close your eyes, drift off and
    relax!

    AYURVEDIC ABHYANGA MASSAGE - This gorgeous treatment aids joint health, nourishes all of the bodily tissues, restores balance and helps to de-stress. It is an oil-based treatment that uses Organic Medicated Oils to increase the therapeutic benefits to the receiver.

    I have carefully created the daily routine and meal times for the retreat to align with and support the natural bio-rhythms of the body and nature. Aligning with the bio-rhythm (nature’s flow of the day) will enhance your wellness and experience during this weekend. This is a key part of Ayurveda’s approach to cultivating daily health and vitality physically and emotionally.

     

    Ayurveda is very specific about keeping your digestion happy. This also means eating fresh, seasonal, easy-to-digest (gently cooked) food. The menu is thoughtfully designed to support your digestive capacity (known as “agni”) which is essential to helping you feel better.

     

    WE USE homegrown veggies or nearly all organic produce from within a 15-mile radius where possible. All food is VEGETARIAN & mostly WHEAT FREE.

     

    We DO NOT use any REFINED SUGAR- only natural sweeteners like dates, raw honey, maple syrup & jaggery.

     

    Meals include: a coooked breakfast, a main meal in the middle of the day (best time for digestion), and a lighter evening meal.

     

    Please note - no alcohol is served at the retreat!

Fforest Barn is within an hour’s drive of Bristol, and 2.5 hours from London by car or train (Paddington to Abergavenny, then 10 minute taxi) and easily accessible from the Midlands, Manchester, and the SouthWest.
